    Overview

Kenya is one of the world’s great Safari and wilderness destinations, known for its remarkable diversity of landscapes, wildlife and cultures. Imagine endless Savannah, tropical white sandy beaches and coral reefs, dense equatorial forests and snow capped mountains all in one medium size country by continental standards. Kenya is actually the original Safari destination of the world, attracting explorers, adventurers and travellers for centuries. A safari to Kenya can be the trip of a lifetime as Kenya is a world by itself. To discover the incredible diversity of attractions, join us in one of our signature trips to Kenya.

Safari means “journey”, and it is now used around the world to represent the concept of travel in the bush. The principal activity of a safari is to discover and observe the animal world of the savannah. Be prepared for long drives in the African Savannah following tracks of animals and to be amused by the beauty of the African animal kingdom. Although you will see endless species, you will be after seeing the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Cape buffalo, Leopard and Black Rhinoceros.
Your Safari will start in exploring Samburu where you expect to see the unique “northern species. You then stay in a luxurious camp in Sweetwaters with magnificent views of Mt. Kenya. Lake Nakuru is your next destination where you will see the famous pink flamingos and then continue to the Masai Mara triangle, one of the world’s richest wildlife sanctuaries before you end your trip back in Nairobi.
    Facts
    • Kenya lies astride the equator on the eastern coast of Africa. It is a medium-sized country by continental standards; covering an area of about 586,600km sq. Inland water bodies cover some 10,700km sq, the bulk of this in Lakes Victoria and Turkana.
    • The word Swahili (literally “of the coast”), is derived from the Arabic word Sahil. It refers to not only the Swahili language (Kiswahili), but also to the Islamic culture of the people inhabiting the East African coast from Mogadishu in the north down to Mozambique in the south. Both language and culture are characterised by a mixture of Bantu, Arabic, Persian and Asian influence.
    • The country’s capital is Nairobi, which is 1,661 meters above sea level.
    • Kenya’s highest mountain is Mount Kenya, and its Africa’s second highest peak. It is regarded as the realm of Ngai, god of the local Kikuyu people. Traditionally, all Kikuyu home were built to face this sacred peak. They call it Kirinyaga, or place of light.
What do people say about this trip?
