    Overview

Tanzania, an Eastern African country located below the equator and offers colourful fusion of different people and cultures, offers the best Safaris in the world. It is a land that holds the remains of what is believed to be the oldest hominid fossils in the world; more than three million years old. It is a land where African charm strikes you and compels you to keep asking for more. The warmth of the culture touches you deeply as you are welcomed and greeted by Jambo by all, young and old! Jambo in the local Swahili means hello. Safari means “journey”, and it is now used around the world to represent the concept of travel in the bush. The principal activity of a safari is to discover and observe the animal world of the savannah. Be prepared for long drives in the African Savannah following tracks of animals and to be amused by the beauty of the African animal kingdom. Although we will see endless species, we will be after seeing the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Cape buffalo, Leopard and Black Rhinoceros.
Our Safari will not only take you to the vastness legendary Serengeti, but will also take you to what was described as one of the natural wonders of the world: The Ngorongoro Crater. A World Heritage Site situated at the eastern edge of the Serengeti and is the largest unbroken ancient caldera in the world. Nearly three million years old, the once-volcanic Ngorongoro is now considered “Africa’s Garden of Eden” – a haven for thousands of wild game, including lions, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, rhinos, Thomson’s gazelles and buffaloes.
    Facts
    • Tanzania has a geological past spanning more than 300 million years. It holds archaeological treasures that include hominid fossils more than three million years old, it is considered to be the cradle of mankind.
    • Tanzania has more than100 tribal groups, each with its own language and customs, however a common language -Swahili – brings all together as one nation.
    • The word Swahili (literally “of the coast”), is derived from the Arabic word Sahil. It refers to not only the Swahili language (Kiswahili), but also to the Islamic culture of the people inhabiting the East African coast from Mogadishu in the north down to Mozambique in the south. Both language and culture are characterised by a mixture of Bantu, Arabic, Persian and Asian influence.
