Iguassu Falls, Rio De Janeiro & Chapada Diamantina

Easy – Moderate

12 days

Iguassu Falls is one of the New Wonders of Nature. It is divided between Brazil and Argentina, the imaginary line of boundary between the two countries is the Devil’s Throat, one of the waterfalls. The Falls are the largest sequence of waterfalls in the world and have been enacted as a World Heritage by UNESCO. The Iguassu Falls are formed by swirling water creating a unique spectacle.

Over its nearly 500 years of history,  Rio De Janeiro has been the spring board for all the country’s principal cultural exports, and the port of entry for major international art exhibitions or musical events bringing top names from the classical to the contemporary. Rio’s architecture embraces churches and buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, blending with the world renowned designs of the 20th. In the South Zone, along the sea front, the city preserves the memory of names such as Tom Jobim and João Gilberto, who wrote the first chords of the Bossa Nova.

Located in the heart of Bahia, Chapada Diamantina has flat topper mountains, canyons, valleys, trails, caves and the most impressive brazilian waterfalls. Chapada is like an oasis in the wilderness. Pati Valley trekking is almost 900m deep and was once a coffee plantation and now is home for around 30 families that open their house for trek lovers. This program is a great option to explore the National Park, from the North to the South of Chapada Diamantina. You will sleep in different and small villages and have contact with local people. Some highlights are included as Pai Inácio Hill and Buracão Waterfall.
