Massive glaciers are protected in Vatnajökull and Snæfellsjökull national parks. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power and is home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival Reykjavik

Meet our Rahhalah representative at Keflavik Airport. He will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall holding a Rahhalah sign.

Transfer to the hotel – Centrum Hotel or similar

Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 : Þingvellir – Gullfoss – Geysir – River Rafting (B, D)

After breakfast at hotel, meet & greet with our local driver-guide at your hotel in Reykjavik.

Visit the historical not to be missed sites in Iceland (Þingvellir national park, Gullfoss waterfall, and Geysir geothermal area)

Þingvellir is a remarkable geological site, and the most historic place on the island, being situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It´s a magnificent showcase with all its faults and fissures and the beautiful mountains around it.

Gullfoss, the Golden waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe. Here you can see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in a double-fall into a deep gorge.

Geysir, A favorite stop along the Golden Circle is the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits, exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 meters (100 ft) into the air every 7-9 minutes.

On route, we stop at the geothermal bakery for a taste of freshly baked rye bread. Experience firsthand when the bread is dug out from the warm black sand by the lake of Laugarvatn.

After your visit to these beautiful sites, here begin your most adrenaline adventure: River Rafting!

After everyone dress up, a quick safety talk from one of our friendly river guides, you will be ready to start your rafting adventure and sail down a glacier river, surrounded by a magnificent landscape.

Rafting duration: 90mints. Total duration at the place: 3-4hours

Day 03 : Reynisfjara – Seljalandsfoss & Skógafoss – Sólheimajökull (B, D)

Today we head on to the sights of the South coast:

Reynisfjara black sand beach with basalt columns rising from the sea. It is the most famous black sand beach in world with its dramatic beauty.

Dyrhólaey nature reserve, with natural rock arch, created by the Atlantic ocean, and its grand view from the lighthouse along the endless beach.                                       

Seljalandsfoss & Gjúfrabúi waterfalls. The beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss the only known waterfall of its kind, where it is possible to walk behind it. Further, along the rock wall you reach the waterfall Gjlúfrabúi, who hides in a narrow gorge.

Skógafoss waterfalls, a well-known waterfall in Iceland, Walking up close to a powerful 60m high curtain of water is an experience you should not miss ever.

Later on the day here, we begin our another adventure – Glacier hike!

On our first contact with an Icelandic glacier when we visit Sólheimajökull glacier. We combine glacier hike with an introduction to ice climbing while exploring the majestic landscape of the glacier, with cauldrons, ridges and deeprevasses.

Glacier hike and ice climbing duration: 3-4hours.

Day 04 : Borgarfjörður – Grábrók – Víðgelmir (B, D)

After breakfast at hotel, Today we find our way to the historic Borgarfjörður district. We hike to Grábrók crater, the largest of three craters in a short volcanic fissure, for a beautiful view of Borgarfjörður.

Later on, we take our adventure to Iceland’s largest and most spectacular, Cave Víðgelmir lava tube. The stunning beauty of Víðgelmir lava cave lies in the amazing colors and rock formations that used to hide in the dark.

Day 05: Langjökull – Hraunfossar – Deildartunguhver (B)

Experience the untouched beauty and raw nature of Langjökull glacier, Iceland‘s second largest glacier. Enjoy the adventure of a lifetime as we go deep inside to the entrance of the man-made ice tunnels leading to the blue heart of the glacier.  Take a ride in a modified glacier vehicle, specially made to explore the glacier environment; We are escorted into the glacier by a specialized glacier guide who will share general knowledge of the glacier and the ice tunnel.

Glacier tour duration (inside the Ice-Tunnel): 1hour.  Total duration: 3-4hours

In the afternoon, we drive back to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. On route, we visit e.g. Hraunfossar waterfalls and Deildartunguhver, Europe‘s most powerful hot spring.

Day 06: Reykjavik whale watching & horse riding (B)

Today we sail out to Faxaflói bay and start our whale watching tour. Scan the area for signs of whales. The wildlife in the bay is at it‘s peak during the summer time and this is the time when the Minke whales are at their most abundant, along with White-beaked dolphins, Harbour porpoises and the occasional Humpback whales, giving us the chance to enjoy and understand them in their natural environment.

In the afternoon, we experience the Icelandic horse surrounded by amazing nature right outside Reykjavík’s city center. Our friendly horses and specially trained guides will take you on a ride on excellent riding paths where you can experience the unique Icelandic horse while enjoying beautiful scenery full of lava fields and green hillsides.

Horse riding tour duration: 1.5hours

Day 07: Departure Reykjavik (B)
