This remarkable and memorable experience will take you to Lapland, Finland and offer you an incredible, once in a lifetime experience. Luosto is a small village in northern Finland, in Lapland, surrounded by national park. On this short holiday to this enchanting winter wonderland, spend days participating in adventurous activities from husky sledding through a snowy forest to reindeer safaris and snowmobiling, and learn new skills in skiing and snowshoeing. At night, gaze at the sky and hopefully marvel at the Northern Lights dancing above you.

Day 1 :22nd Feb 2019 - Arrival Rovaniemi/ Transfer to Luosto ( D)

Arriving at Rovaniemi you will be picked up from the airport and taken directly to your hotel in Luosto. The drive will take approximately 1h30min through the snowy landscape.

Please note there will be arranged 2 arrival transfers for the group(morning and afternoon) – you can choose one of them depending on your flight arrival time. 


Accommodation: Santa’s Hotel Aurora, standard rooms with fireplace

Santa’s Hotel Aurora is located in the heart of Luosto Village. Hotel Aurora combines all the best of an enchanting fell cottage with carefree, quality hotel accommodation. The hotel is located right in the center of Luosto, in the immediate vicinity of all services and events. The hotel also offers modern and well-equipped ‘Arctic View’ rooms with a glass ceiling and glass walls.

Day 2: 23rd Feb 2019 - Husky Safari and Arctic Sky & Nature Trail (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Wintertime safari with husky teams. After a short transfer by car, you arrive at a husky ranch, where these friendly dogs will bark an enthusiastic welcome to you. Before departing on the 10 km safari, you will be given instruction on how to control the sleds, which you will ride in pairs. Enjoy some hot berry juice by an open firee and chat with the head musher about these amazing northern animals once you return to the farm.2 persons/team and guests can take turns in driving.

Afternoon for relaxation.

After dinner, join Arctic Sky and Nature Trail Program: Arctic sky and nature of Lapland will come familiar to you during our fascinating 2,8 km walk around beautiful lake Ahvenlampi and old- growth pine forest. Northern Lights may surprise you and you will learn how to take photos about them.

Day 3: 24th Feb 2019 - Cross country skiing and Snowmobile Safari to Amethyst Mine (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel.

You will get the chance to learn the basics of traditional Cross country skiing around beautiful forest and landscapes at Luosto. Includes friendly instructions and equipment.


Lunch at the hotel.


Find your lucky stone! This scenic safari takes you by snowmobile to famous amethyst mine. Visitors are invited in the wooden houses, covered with snow outside but warm inside! Here you will learn about this purple variation of quartz which was formed about 2000 million years ago, deep inside the ancient mountain. While sipping warm beverages, guide will lead you to the fascinating world of amethyst. At the mine you will dig your own lucky stone.

Return by snowmobiles to Luosto. A valid driver´s license is required in order to drive the snowmobile.

Day 4 :25th Feb 2019 - Reindeer herding and Northern Lights Searching by Snowshoes (B, L, D)

After breakfast pack your belongings as you will change to Arctic Glass rooms in the afternoon.

All four seasons of Lapland can be experienced as arctic view rooms are designed and made for all year round use. In winter you get closest to the winter polar nights and Aurora Borealis. The unique midsummer sun and the nightless nights in the summer gives another view to the Lappish nature. In autumn and spring, you can experience the nature and animals preparing to the new season. Scenic landscape of Luosto presents itself every day as a new. Almost like watching the new painting every day!

Arctic View Glass rooms are equipped with shower, WC, water boiler with coffee and tea, TV, aurora alarm phone, wifi, and hairdryer. Rooms can be fitted with one extra bed. All other hotel services as reception, breakfast, lobby bar and restaurant in the main building of Santa’s Hotel Aurora are only a few steps away from your Arctic View room.


Today, we visit a local reindeer farm where we learn about the life of reindeer herders and go for a short sleigh ride with the reindeers. Lunch and dinner at the hotel.


In the evening, join a Northern Lights search with Snowshoes. Our experienced guide leads you safely to places where are good possibilities to see Northern lights and tells you interesting facts about Northern lights, Lappish nature and Lappish history. Includes friendly guiding, equipment and transportation.

Day 5 : 26th Feb 2019 - Day at leisure ( B, L, D)

After breakfast the day is yours!

Optional activities can be arranged at extra cost.

Day 6 : 27th Feb 2019 - Departure Rovaniemi ( B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Transfer back to Rovaniemi, where on arrival we will visit the renowned Santa Claus Village for two hours. Great place for souvenir shopping, and of course, for meeting the “real” Santa.

Please note there will be arranged 2 departure transfers for the group (morning and afternoon) – you can choose one of them depending on your flight departure time.
