Overview: Slovakia’s High Tatras with snow-covered slopes and forests are a wonderful place for a unforgettable holiday. This multi activity winter adventure in spectacular Slovakia is a great fun for both Adults and kids. Starting in Bratislava, the capital of the country we then move to the stunning Tatra Mountains in Eastern Slovakia to enjoy a great week, full of the most popular winter activities including dog sledding! You will also enjoy skiing or snowboarding on some of Slovakia´s longest slopes on the sunny side of the Tatras. Getting away from civilisation, we enjoy a horse and sleigh ride, and grilling on an open fire Slovak style. We also learn more about the history of this beautiful region in the outdoor museum of Zdiar, on the border with Poland! An unforgettable experience is relaxation in outdoor thermal pools in the foothills of the Tatra Mountains.

Day 01: Arrival in Bratislava, Slovakia
Today you will be welcomed by Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital and the former coronation city of the AustroHungarian Monarchy. After an introductory briefing, we enjoy a guided tour through the charming old town including Bratislava Castle with its four towers, situated on a hill above the old town offering stunning views over the Danube River. Next we enjoy Michalska Brana gate, entrance to the old town, picturesque streets, surrounded by baroque architecture, including the famous Grassalkovichov Palace, home of the Slovak President. Day 02: Transfer to Tatra Mountains ( B)
After breakfast we leave Bratislava and transfer 336 km by a private bus to the spectacular Tatras, the highest mountains in Slovakia and the entire Carpathian arch that stretches all the way to Ukraine, Romania and Serbia. Approximately at 1 PM we reach Tatranska Lomnica our home for the next 5 nights. The rest of the day is then yours to explore Tatranska Lomnica and the surroundings of your hotel. Day 03: Skiing or Snowboarding ( B)
This morning we head to the slopes to enjoy our first day of skiing in Tatranska Lomnica. This resort offers slopes for both beginners as well as experienced skiers looking for black runs. Our first stop is at the rental shop to pick up skis or a board. The day is then ours to enjoy. Should you require a ski instructor we advise to reserve this at the time of booking. Don’t miss an unforgettable ride in the suspension cable car to Lomnický štít peak (2,634m) for stunning panoramic views from the highest Slovakian bar. Day 04: Skiing or Snowboarding ( B)
After breakfast we head back to the slopes to enjoy another day of skiing. Breakfast / Hotel – Tatranska Lomnica, Slovakia Note: Ski pass and ski lessons are at additional cost
Day 05: Dog sledding ( B)
Today we enjoy a day trip to the national park of Velka Fatra, well known for its magical and varied landscape of dramatic ridges, vast hillside meadows, distinctive rock formations and caves. Beautiful snow-covered meadows at higher altitudes with stunning views, offer great conditions for mushers and fans of dog sledging. Our professional mushers will teach you the principles of controlling the dog sledge and later you can try your own! After a day in the snow, we visit a thermal water park for a spot of relaxation. Outdoor and indoor thermal pools, saunas, jacuzzis, a wellness centre and attractions for the whole family await us. In the late afternoon we return back to our hotel. Day 06: Hrebienok and the Goral village of Zdiar ( B, L)
After breakfast we take a mountain tram to Stary Smokovec, the oldest settlement in the Tatras. From here we take a funicular cable car to Hrebienok 1285 m. a popular starting point for number of walks in both summer and winter season. Here we visit the dome of ice sculptures created by artists from all over the world. Next we enjoy an easy walk to Rainerova mountain hut, the oldest one in the Tatras. We then return back to Stary Smokovec and take a private bus to the village of Zdiar, a typical Goral village , full of traditional wooden houses and barns. Here we visit a local museum and experience a horse and sleigh ride in a forest, followed by unforgettable Slovak style grilling on an open fire and downhill sledding. A great day full of fun for both adults and children. In the early evening we return back to our hotel.
Day 07: Departure ( B)
After breakfast transfer to airport for departure flight. Note: One group airport transfer is included. Additional transfers can be arranged at extra cost and paid directly.
