Welcome to Southern Patagonia! Upon arrival at El Calafate airport, you will be greeted by a Rahhalah representative who will accompany you to your hotel in El Chalten (a 3-4-hour drive).

El Chalten is the top-rated trekking destination, the Argentine capital of trekking. Located at the foot of the Fitz Roy Mountain, surrounded by glaciers, lakes, rivers, and forests, it is still a hidden gem of the south. The charming little village, which is also the start point for most paths, is a paradise for walkers and trekkers alike.

In the morning, we will leave El Chalten following Provincial Route 41, bordering the Río de las Vueltas, until we meet the Río Electrico, located 15 km from downtown.

Without crossing the bridge, we will start the hike along a beautiful path, following the Blanco River towards the Poincenot camp, through a dense Lenga forest that protects us from the winds coming from the Ice Field (Continental Ice).

From the beginning, we have the possibility of seeing different glaciers such as Marconi, Eléctrico, Cagliero, and in the distance, in the direction of Lago del Desierto, Vespignani. We ascend to the Piedras Blancas Glacier Viewpoint and then continue to the Poincenot camp from where we can already see the needles such as the “S”, Saint Exupéry, Poincenot, Fitz Roy, Mermoz and Guillaumet. We will then reach the Poincenot camp and have a break for lunch, admiring the stunning views.

We begin our return passing through varied landscapes, accompanied by crystalline streams and trickles of water. We also visit the Capri Lagoon, one of the favorite places for photography lovers, to then arrive at El Chaltén.

This morning, we start traveling the 37 km that separates us from Lago del Desierto along a beautiful gravel road, following the Río de las Vueltas. We will arrive at Punta Sur pier, from where we sail for about 30 minutes, spotting the Huemul and Crestón glaciers, and disembark at the Vespignani glacier area, which is located in the middle of the lake.

Once there, we can choose to walk one of the three perfectly signed-posted trails of the Glacier Vespignani Reserve according to the difficulty and effort you wish to perform. The guide in charge of the activity will supervise your choice for your own safety.

The red and most demanding trail will take us one hour and thirty minutes at a slow pace to overcome the 700 meters of altitude and access to the foot of Vespignani Glacier, plus an incredible high view of the north face of Mount Fitz Roy.
The yellow trail takes us with a gentle slope to an outstanding panoramic point overlooking the glacier. And finally, the green trail, as an option or complement to the other routes, is an interpretative easy walk, within the forest and coast. The third and less demanding option, take us in a slight and constant slope to a significant point with a panoramic view of the glacier, in only 15 minutes.

You can also choose or complement the other hikes with a last option, which is the simplest trail that takes you to the wooded area and the coastal reserve without climbing. After a hot chocolate, we go back to Punta Sur pier by boat, and then continue by road back to El Chalten.

After breakfast, we will meet our mountain guide and leave the valley to start our trek to Cerro Torre Viewpoint.

Uphill walking, we immerse ourselves in the lovely Lenga forest of Patagonia. During the trek, we will enjoy amazing views of the Fitzroy River Canyon running alongside. Don't forget to look around and overhead, maybe we will see a Magellan Woodpeckers on a tree or a Condor searching for its next feed! After a few miles, we will reach the Cerro Torre Viewpoint. Once there, we will sit to contemplate and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Admire the whole Torre Valley and its various terminal moraines from different ice ages in the foreground. In the distance, we will see the granite towers of Torre Mount and all its satellite mountains.

Afterward, we will head back along the same path – this time looking towards the steppe and other mountains!

After finishing the hike, at the appropriate time, we will take a transfer to El Calafate. This 3-hour trip will allow us to enjoy the desert of Southern Patagonia on the famous Route 40. We will pass through La Leona River, which connects Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma. By the river, we will see La Leona Road House where once Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid after robbing a bank were hidden for almost a month.

El Calafate, often considered the gateway to the stunning Patagonian glaciers on this incredible journey.

Morning Perito Moreno Glacier: This morning we will take a transfer to Los Glaciares National Park located at 50 miles from El Calafate, home of the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier.

Los Glaciares National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 when its almost 200 glaciers were discovered. Half of the park is occupied by the Patagonian ice field, the second largest ice field after Antarctica.

Upon arrival at the National Park, the guide will show us the different walkways from where we will be able to walk in front of the colossal ice wall, and, if we are lucky, perhaps see some landslides.

When the ice breaks and falls, the world holds its breath: all other sounds stop at the earth's surface.

We will start the adventure from the main balcony and then, have some free time to wander freely until the meeting time agreed with our guide.

Afternoon Kayaking: Live a unique experience. Get to know the Perito Moreno glacier, a UNESCO natural heritage site, from a different perspective.
It will be something we will remember forever. The experience begins at the Perito Moreno Kayak Experience meeting point, located near the main parking lot, where we will meet the team and have a briefing about the experience. We will be given the necessary clothing and the expert kayak guides will inform us of everything related to safety and explain how to paddle through these amazing glacial waters. No previous kayaking experience is required.

Once we are ready, we will go kayaking from Playa de los Témpanos, rowing towards the front of the glacier, approaching about 600 meters away. We will stop to take unique images of this moment, while we learn more about this fascinating place. After this unique experience, we will return to the hotel.

At the appropriate time, we will be transferred from our hotel in Calafate to Punta Bandera Port. From here, we will navigate the turquoise waters of Lake Argentino, sailing through floating icebergs as we venture deep into the national park en route to the remote and gorgeous Estancia Cristina.

Once we disembark at Estancia Cristina, the horseback riding guide will lead us to the Stable, where he will assign us the horse and the appropriate equipment. The ride will begin in the Caterina River Valley area and we will be able to enjoy the immensity of a virgin glacial landscape, surrounded by mountains and lagoons that will be part of the journey throughout the tour.

At the appointed time, we will arrive at the Pearson Lagoon where there will be a stop for lunch. At the end of lunch, we will return to the ranch, where a brief historical tour will take place, visiting the Costumbrista Museum, an old shearing shed, where the history of the Masters family, pioneers of the place, their passage, and experience in that area will be learned.

We will return to the farmhouse of the Estancia and then navigate back to Puerto Bandera where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.
