Take a step back in time. We invite you to visit the home of the pioneer Andreas Madsen, a Dane who lived in the area 100 years ago. Learn about their daily way of life and understand the adventures and challenges faced by Madsen's family.
When entering the home of these pioneers we'll be able to admire the original architecture of the house, that is still intact a century on; We can see the lenga wood chopped by hand with an axe, and the walls are made up layers of old wooden crates, newspapers and hessian for insulation.  This type of architecture is known as Southern Patagonia Pioneers’ architecture, which is practically in a perfect condition and one of the few places you can see it in our area!
We can also admire the furniture and old tools used by the family. On the walls, there are black and white photographs of family life that give an idea of what it was like to live in deep Patagonia at the beginning of the 1900s.
We can then enter the dining room and sit at Andreas' dining room table and enjoy a hot evening meal. Our guide, full of anecdotes and tales will keep us riveted to the days gone by.
Patagonia is not just about a beautiful landscape. It’s an amalgamation of incredible stories of men and women who through lots of hard work and effort decided to live in this beautiful and wild corner of the earth.
