Itinerary Details

Upon your arrival at the Baku International Airport (GYD), you will be welcomed by a Rahhalah representative, and will be transferred to your hotel.

Later in the evening, you will embark on a relaxing city exploration, enjoying Baku by night, passing by major highlights such as Highland Park and the Flames Tower.

Accommodation: Baku Marriott Hotel Boulevard (5-star) or similar.

After an early breakfast, you will check-out and head to Gabala (approx. a 4-hour drive), surrounded on the way by scenic, often snow-covered landscapes and the Caucasus Mountains in the distance.

Upon your arrival at Gabala, you will check-in in the mountain resort, leave your luggage there (taking only a backpack) and continue the drive with the car.

Your first stop will be the serene Nohur Lake, embraced by lush forests and the Mountains at the background. The calm waters reflect the landscape, creating a peaceful and almost surreal atmosphere. You will have time to take a leisurely walk around the lake, enjoying the fresh mountain air and the beauty of the area.

After lunch, you will continue your exploration, passing by the Palace of Sheki Khans, a Caravanserai, and Kish village (approx. a 1.5-hour drive).

The Palace of Sheki Khans is a historical site in Sheki, a city known for its rich history and well-preserved architectural treasures. The palace is famous for its ornate design and intricate stained glass work.

Later, you will visit the old Caravanserai, a historic roadside inn where travelers and their animals rested along the Silk Road. It offers a unique glimpse into the ancient trade routes and their impact on the region.

Then, you will head to discover the historical village of Kish, home to one of the oldest churches in the Caucasus, reflecting the deep-rooted Christian heritage of the area. The tour also includes a visit to a historic temple, further showcasing the religious and cultural diversity of Azerbaijan.

You will then return to your hotel in Gabala.

Then, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy at your own pace, honing your skiing skills or engaging in any other activity.

With its well-maintained ski slopes, Tufandag caters to all levels of skiers, from beginners to advanced. The resort boasts a variety of runs, each offering its own unique experience. The crisp, cold air and the fresh, powdery snow create perfect conditions for skiing. You can spend your morning gliding down the slopes, taking in the breathtaking views of the Greater Caucasus.

If you want to try out other winter activities, you may check snowboarding, tobogganing, or snowshoeing, available at the resort.

After an early breakfast, you will bid the ski slopes farewell and embark on a scenic return journey to Baku, visiting, on the way, the "Yeddi Gozel" (Seven Beauties) waterfall and the historic Shamakhi Juma Mosque.

First stop: the Yeddi Gozel waterfall (approx. a 30-min drive), famous for its seven stages of cascading water. In February, the waterfall presents a stunning sight with some of its parts potentially frozen, creating spectacular ice formations. The surrounding area, full of snow-covered trees and rocks, adds to the magical winter ambience.

Later, you will reach the ancient city of Shamakhi (approx. a 1.5-hour drive), home to the Shamakhi Juma Mosque: one of the oldest in the Caucasus region, its history dating back many centuries. The mosque stands as a testament to the rich Islamic heritage of Azerbaijan.

After visiting the mosque, you will continue straight to Baku (approx. a 2-hour drive) where, after your check-in in the hotel, you will have some free time for last-minute shopping, before the group re-assembles for a special farewell dinner. This celebratory meal will allow you to relish the flavors of the Azerbaijani cuisine and reminiscing the beauty of the mountains.
