Detailed Itinerary

Day 01

29th Nov 2019
  • Arrival Bogota
    Upon arrival in Bogota you will be met by a Rahhalah representative and accompany you to your hotel. Check –in at hotel and rest of the day is at your own leisure. Optional tour (not included): City Tour Bogota: On this tour we will visit Bogotá's historical center at La Candelaria neighbourhood, passing through its main sights, including the Plaza de Bolívar, the Gold Museum, which has an impressive collection of pre-Columbian goldsmiths from Colombia's native communities and the Museo de Botero, During the tour, we will make a stop at the Paloquemao Market, one of city’s main markets that caters to thousands of Bogotan families, We will enjoy the flavours, aromas and colours of papayas, pitahayas, tree tomatoes, lulos and avocados and the warm attention of the sellers in Paloquemao! Also, a visit to Monserrate sanctuary is included. Located at 3.150 m.a.s.l., this sanctuary is accessible by cable car or funicular and besides being a famous pilgrimage site for the locals, it offers a stunning panoramic view over the city Accommodation: Hotel Opera or similar.

Day 02

30th Nov 2019
  • Bogota - Coffee Region (B)
    After breakfast, we checkout from hotel and transfer to the airport and board on our domestic flight to the Coffee Region. Upon arrival, meet with our Rahhalah representative and transfer to the hotel in the small town Salento. After check-in in hotel, by afternoon, we will get to know the process of the coffee production in a local family run coffee farm: from the seed to the final product, a delicious cup of coffee! Day 03

1st Dec 2019
  • Mountains trekking, “Brujitas” & “Garrucha” (B)
    In the morning, our private transport brings us in about 2,5 hours to the little village Estación Pereira, passing lonesome farms and vast fruit plantations. There, we hop on a so-called “Brujita” (little wooden wagons pulled by a motorcycle) which is using the former tracks between Buenaventura at the Pacific coast to Medellin. We go on crossing the Cauca river on a “Garrucha”, a platform hanging on steel cables used for transportation. After a few hours of trekking through the beautiful woods on the other side of the river, we reach a waterfall where we can take a refreshing bath Accommodation: Terrazas de Salento or similar

Day 04

2nd Dec 2019
  • Valle de Cocora (B)
    Today we will go from Salento to the Cocora Valley, a spectacular cloud forest that is the gate to the Los Nevados National Park and where you can admire the famous but also threatened Quindío’s wax palm, world’s highest and declared as Colombia’s national tree. The transfer from the town square to the Valley takes about half an hour and is special because it is done in jeeps Willys of the 50s, that came to lend a hand to the peasant work and who remained to be consolidated as a regional cultural icon. From the Cocora Valley, at 2,390 m.a.s.l., we will ascend in a walk of about 4 hours / 5 kilometers, to the Acaime Natural Reserve at 2,700 meters, going through the mountain crossing forests and creeks. The place that three decades ago used to be a livestock farm, is today a preservation area where hundreds of hummingbirds of different species flutter front of your eyes while you enjoy a hearty aguadepanela with cheese. From here, walking a little further, it is possible to reach a viewpoint that offers a stunning view over the Valley. Return to Salento by evening. Accommodation: Terrazas de Salento or similar

Day 05

3rd Dec 2019
  • Coffee Region – Cartagena (B)
    After breakfast, checkout from hotel and we proceed to the airport Pereira or Armenia and take a domestic flight to Cartagena. Upon arrival in Cartagena airport, transfer to the hotel and check in. In the afternoon, explore the vibrant city: Our City Tour starts with the transfer from the city center to the La Popa Convent. From the convent you will have a great view over the whole city. From there, we will proceed to the biggest fortress built by the Spaniards in South America, the San Felipe de Barajas Fortress. We will visit the whole fortress including some of its tunnels, as well as the statue of Don Blas de Lezo. Afterwards, we will go back to the city center and visit the most important landmarks, such as the official entrance to the walled city with the Clock Tower (Torre del Reloj). Behind it, we will find the Monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena de Indias (1533). The guide will tell us about the story of Cartagena’s founding and will share interesting stories full of legends and pirates. Accommodation: Hotel Bantu or similar

Day 06

  • Cartagena – Island Mucura (B, L, D)
    After breakfast, we transfer to the harbour from where we will take a speedboat to the island Mucura. Múcura Island is a coral island located in the Archipelago of San Bernardo, Gulf of Morrosquillo, Caribbean Sea. Here we check-in to our hotel – Hotel Punto Faro – a little corner of the world - where you disconnect from the world and relax in peace at private beach at Caribbean sea. It is a hotel at a private island, about 1 hour from Cartagena by speedboat. Many activities are available at the hotel like: snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddle boat, tennis, cycling, massage etc.. (Activity fees are not included in the trip cost, please feel free to choose based on your own preference) Accommodation: Punta Faro or similar

Day 07

  • Island Mucura (B, L, D)
    Today is full day at your own leisure to relax by beach or explore other optional water activities. Accommodation: Punta Faro or similar

Day 08

6th Dec 2019
  • Departure Cartagena (B)
    We checkout from hotel and transfer to Cartagena by speedboat. Depend on your flight, transfer to the airport of Cartagena for your departure flight back to home.
