Set deep in Finnish Lapland, at Aurora Village in Ivalo, this journey weaves unforgettable winter tales for families. You’ll stay in glass-roofed cabins under Arctic skies, experience the thrill of husky and reindeer rides, try ice-fishing, snowmobiling and more, all while chasing the Northern Lights in pristine wilderness. Evenings are soft, with warmth around fires, Finnish sauna moments, and the magic of snow falling silently around your cabin.

Itinerary Details

Day 1 (8th February 2026): Arrival at Ivalo – Transfer to Aurora Village (D)

Upon arrival at Ivalo Airport, you will be welcomed by a Rahhalah representative and will be transferred to Aurora Village, nestled in the snow-white forests. After checking into your Aurora Suite or Tower Suite, you’ll receive the schedule of activities. Dinner is served at the on-site restaurant. If time allows, spend the night gazing through your glass roof, keeping ears out for nighttime whispers of the aurora.
Depending on your arrival time, cold weather gear is given to you either upon arrival or the next day.

Day 2 (9th February 2026): Husky Sledding & Handicraft Workshop (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will head out on a 1-hour Husky Safari. You will be taught how to handle the sled before heading out on the husky safari, where the huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery.

Today, you also get a chance to participate in an Arctic Handicraft Workshop, suited for the whole family. Together with a local instructor, make your own souvenir from a selection of traditional responsibly sourced materials like reindeer antlers and leather as a base. Let your imagination wander and create a piece of art that you can take home with you!

Day 3 (10th February 2026): Reindeer Sleigh Ride and Crepes & Sledding Adventure (B, L, D)

Enjoy breakfast at the restaurant. Afterwards, you get a chance to feed the local reindeer. Listen to the stories about reindeer herding and enjoy a calm reindeer sleigh ride.

In the afternoon, you will be taken for a sleigh ride through the snowy forest, up on the highest hill with amazing scenery. The guides will help you to prepare your own crepes by the open fire, before heading for a 1.5km long fun toboggan run down a scenic sliding trail.

Day 4 (11th February 2026): Snowmobile Safari with Ice Fishing & Panorama Sauna (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the restaurant. Today, you will get to try snowmobiling and ice-fishing!

Drive through the Arctic winter forests while admiring the beauty of the Lappish nature. Your guide leads the way on this exciting snowmobile safari to a frozen river, where you can try your luck with ice-fishing. You’ll learn to drill a hole through thick ice and have fun luring the fish.

IMPORTANT: All drivers without exception must have a valid full driver's license and be aged 18 or more. Kids will travel in a sled behind the guide.

In the evening, relax with your family in the gentle heat of the Panorama Sauna (please note: the sauna may be scheduled on any given day during your stay. You will receive details on arrival).

Day 5 (12th February 2026): Departure from Ivalo (B)

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Arctic landscapes as you go with a transfer to Ivalo Airport for your onward journey, carrying with you memories of snow-dusted forests, magical encounters, and star-filled skies.

Also, the trip's price does not cover expenses that may occur due to conditions beyond Rahhalah's control (force
majeure). Such cases include but are not limited to extreme weather conditions, flight cancellations or delays, and natural phenomena (earthquakes, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, etc.). We, the Rahhalah team, both in our HQ and on the ground, will do our best to assist you with alternative arrangements (like new accommodation and/or transportation arrangements, revised itinerary and activities etc.), but ALL NEW COSTS incurred because of force majeure are to be covered by the traveler.

We strongly recommend that, before your departure, you purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancellation costs, loss of baggage or personal items, medical emergencies, and other unexpected circumstances that cannot be controlled by Rahhalah or any traveler.
