Itinerary Details

Upon your arrival at Athens International Airport, you will be welcomed by the trip leader (or another Rahhalah representative), and you will be transferred to your hotel.

It is recommended that you arrive early, as the days are short and from 5pm onwards it is already dark.

In the afternoon, you will head towards Plaka, the oldest, still-inhabited neighborhood of Athens and Europe. You will stroll around the picturesque alleys, observing the kaleidoscopic co-existence of the Ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and modern Greek eras, evident in the monuments, the architecture, the houses, and the stories imprinted in each corner. You will also visit the charming area of Anafiotika – affectionately referred to as “an island within the city” – and you will enjoy from the top panoramic views over the Greek metropolis.

You will finish the day in the oldest Plaka tavern to dine on traditional local delicacies while singing and dancing – the Greek way.

Accommodation: President Hotel (4-star) or similar.

After breakfast, you will head towards the famous Acropolis Rock, where you will hear the stories and myths of the past, and you will decipher the significance behind the eternal symbols that crown the Greek capital. Goddess Athena – the patron goddess of Athens – will reveal to you the secrets behind the divine feminine, and you will explore together the evolution of the female presence in ancient and modern history. After visiting the Parthenon, you will head to the Acropolis Museum – one of the best museums in the world – to lunch in a hall with a magnificent view, facing the ancient monuments.

In the afternoon, you will head to the house of the trip leader for a brief cooking class and, most of all, an evening of meaningful conversations, games, and inner explorations. When women share stories around a table, whether cooking or over a meal, something magical happens: there is laughter, and fun, and, through the discussions, new understandings emerge, as well as a level of inner peace.

Since the days of the trip coincide with the carnival period in Greece, this home fiesta can be further adorned with masks, costumes, or themed role-playing. This will be an open floor for creativity, while more suggestions will be shared with the group closer to date.

Accommodation: President Hotel (4-star) or similar.

After breakfast, you will head towards Nafplio, a beautiful sea town with a strongly Venetian ambiance, located in the Peloponnese, around 2 hours away from Athens.
On the way, you will briefly stop at the Isthmus point to marvel at an engineering accomplishment of the end of the 19th century.

Nafplio was a Venetian port and the first capital city of the newly founded Greek State. Upon your arrival, you will visit the Castle of Palamidi (one of the best-preserved forts in Greece), hiking up and down its 999 stairs, and enjoying magnificent panoramic views from the top.

After lunch, you will stroll around the picturesque alleys, with plenty of time for shopping, sampling some of the local sweets, or having coffee by the corniche.

Accommodation: President Hotel (4-star) or similar.

After breakfast, you will head to Ymittos Mountain and the old monastery of Kaisariani, where, after a short visit to the Byzantine monuments, you will walk around the mountain, discovering ancient temples hidden amidst the cluster of trees. There, the trip leader will recount archetypal tales with female heroines, and then, you will be handed out sketchbooks to draw the impressions that the landscape, the stories, or the overall trip have bestowed on your heart. Drawing skills are not necessary: the important thing is to have fun with colors, using them as a means of expression and joy.
Lunch at a nearby tavern.

The agenda for the rest of the day will remain undisclosed for now and will be revealed closer to date.

Accommodation: President Hotel (4-star) or similar.

In the morning, you will enjoy a tailor-made, themed scavenger game around the center of Athens. Using the information found in some of the stories you heard during the previous days, and, perhaps, with the help of the internet, you will solve crossword puzzles and answer questions that will guide you to a fun prize at the end of the route.

After lunch, you will have enough free time to do your final shopping, before re-assembling for dinner and heading to an evening performance (details to be announced).

Accommodation: President Hotel (4-star) or similar.

After breakfast, and depending on your departure details, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
