Day 01

  • Arrival Reykjavik

    Meet our Rahhalah representative at Keflavik Airport. He will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall holding a Rahhalah sign.

    Note: Please note there will be two arranged arrival transfers for the group – you can choose one of them depending on your flight arrival time. Additional transfer can be arranged at extra cost.

    Transfer to the hotel in Reykjavik

Day 02

  • Þingvellir – Gullfoss – Geysir (Golden circle) – (B)

    After breakfast at hotel, meet & greet with our local driver-guide at your hotel in Reykjavik.

    Visit to the historical Golden circle route not to be missed sites in Iceland (Þingvellir national park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area)

    Þingvellir is a remarkable geological site, and the most historic place on the island, being situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It´s a magnificent showcase with all its faults and fissures and the beautiful mountains around it.

    Gullfoss, the Golden waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe. Here you can see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in a double-fall into a deep gorge.

    Geysir, A favorite stop along the Golden Circle is the highly active Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits, exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water 30 metres (100 ft) into the air every 7-9 minutes.

    Afternoon return to your hotel in Reykjavik.

    By Evening go for a once in lifetime opportunity; hunting for Northern lights tour.

    Iceland is one of the best places in the World to see the Northern Lights. 

    On this tour you have a local expert Aurora hunter as a guide, who knows all the best spots away from the light pollution to help you spot the elusive lights. 

    On this evening tour we may be lucky enough to see them swirling and dancing across the sky changing endlessly colour, shape and size.

    Note: This tour is subject to the correct weather conditions and sightings cannot be guaranteed.  Sightings are not guaranteed even if the tour is operated. In that case a second tour is offered free of charge the next day.

    Tour duration can vary between 3-5 hours, depending on circumstances.

Day 03

  • Reykjanes peninsula and Blue Lagoon tour (B)

    After breakfast at hotel, this day is to explore Reykjanes peninsula and Blue Lagoon, visit bridge between continents, Brimketill, Gunnuhver and Seltún geothermal area.

    Reykjanes peninsula, with its rough black lava landscape, is a Unesco Global Geopark and after passing through village Grindavík, the fumaroles and mud hot springs in Krísúvík show the geothermal activity of the area. It is a unique site where you can find different elements that exist because of the drift zone; geothermal energy, lava fields and other natural phenomenon. 

    On the way back you stop by, visit the famous Blue Lagoon, and soak in the geothermal milky blue water, known for its healing effect on skin and joints.

    Afternoon return to hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 04

  • New-year in Reykjavik / Whale watching (B, D)

    Today it’s a day to enjoy the festive season in town.

    We recommend a stroll in the city center (on your own) to take in the festive atmosphere and experience the preparation for new-year night. If weather and sea conditions allow you can also jump onboard a whale watching excursion from the old harbour area in the city center, in hope of seeing whales in their natural environment.

    Return to hotel in time to prepare for New-year Gala dinner at your hotel.

    At this new-year night, set for the exciting Bonfire tour. This is a public bus tour with English speaking guide to a local tradition of celebration with fireworks and bonfires.

    Departure is at 20:00 – from hotel you will be picked up 30 min before departure time, duration of tour ca. 3-hrs.

Day 05

  • South shore of Iceland (B, D)

    After breakfast at hotel, visit the south shore of Iceland e.g. Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Reynisfjara black sand beach and Dyrholaey nature reserve.

    The beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss invites to a walk behind its veil. Further along the rock wall you reach the waterfall Gjlúfrabúi, which hides in a narrow gorge.

    According to legend, a treasure chest is hidden behind the impressive 60 metre/200 ft drop off  Skógafoss waterfall. Head on to the coast and the birdcliff Dyrhólaey with natural rock arch, created by the  Atlantic ocean, and its grand view from the lighthouse along the endless beach.

    The fascinating black sand beach of Reynisfjara is with its basalt columns is close by and is a must-see.

    Afternoon return to hotel in Reykjavik for dinner at hotel.

Day 06

  • Day of leisure in Reykjavik (B)

    After breakfast at hotel, enjoy a free day to explore Reykjavik city on your own.

    Optional tour : A super jeep tour to Langjökull, Iceland‘s second largest glacier which covers:

    (Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, snowmobile ride on Langjökull glacier and guided tour into the ice tunnel on top of Langjökull glacier.)

    On route back to Reykjavik a visit to Krauma geothermal spa (at your own cost) located by Deildartunguhver, Europe‘s most powerful hot spring. Duration of tour 9-12 hrs, depending on weather and road conditions)
