Every summit day is challenging but, also, immensely rewarding.
You will start at dawn for the final push to the summit of Damavand (5.671 m, 6 – 5 hours): the highest peak of Iran.
Although you should be well acclimatized by now given the hikes of the previous days, it is essential to remember that walking at this altitude is challenging and slow. Occasionally, you may have to cross a snowfield or make an easy scramble on rocks, but for its largest part, the path is straightforward and not particularly steep. As you get closer to the summit, you may smell the mountain's Sulphur, and after 5-6 hours of steady climbing, you will make it to the top! Weather permitting the view is sensational, and it extends in the north up to the Caspian Sea and in the south up to Tehran, while you will enjoy magnificent views on the surrounding peaks as well. After a short rest and plenty of summit photos, you will return to the Bargahe-Sevom hut.
