Day 0118th Apr, 2019 (Thu)
- Arrival in Amman – Petra (L, D)
Note: Arrival in Amman must be before 09:00am.
Upon your arrival at the Amman airport (at 9:00 am), a Rahhalah representative will meet you at the exit point.
You will then be transferred to Petra (a drive of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes), where you will embark on a signature walk through this famous, UNESCO Heritage site. Like Indiana Jones, you will pass by the Treasury, and you will continue following the footsteps of the Nabateans, exploring the architectural marvels created on the rocks, and the influences of various cultures like the Roman, the Egyptian, and the Islamic one.
Snacks and water will be provided during this 5-hour trek. You will end in a traditional restaurant in Wadi Musa where you will have a taste of authentic Jordanian cuisine.
After lunch, you will be transferred to the camp to relax.
At around 8pm, you will return to Petra to explore its wonders by night (2 hours), enjoying the soft light from hundreds of candles and the moon reflecting on the ancient ruins. The path will take you through the narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury, where you will be welcomed by candles twinkling like stars on earth. The soothing sounds of the Bedouin music will complement this experience that is so beautiful it almost feels spiritual.
Overnight stay in Bubble tents at Petra or similar.
Located in the heart of Little Petra Triclinium in Wadi Musa, Petra Bubble camp features accommodation with access to a private hot tub.
It is a luxury experience, a definite “must” on your bucket list!
Day 0219th April, 2019 (Fri)
- Petra – Wadi rum (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a small hiking journey through Little Petra. Upon your return to the camp, you will check out and head with the cars to Wadi Rum (a drive of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes).
In Wadi Rum, you will be guided to a remote campsite where you will lunch on traditional BBQ prepared by a local Bedouin family that still follows the Bedouin lifestyle and will be keen to share their culture and traditions with you.
After lunch, you will go on a 2-hour Jeep joyride that will offer you the opportunity to enjoy the scenic landscapes tucked deeply into the Rum desert, such as the Siq of Lawrence and other gorgeous rock formations. You will finish by watching the sunset at a picturesque location close to the campsite and, then, you will ride the Jeeps again to reach the camp where you will rest for the night. In the evening, you will taste the traditional Zarb – a delicious Bedouin treat – and you will sleep under the stars.
Overnight stay at Luxury Suncity camp.
In the heart of Wadi rum’s majestic desert, there stands our camp offering serenity and a soothing experience – almost spiritual – deriving from the interaction with the Bedouins of the valley and the unmatched beauty of the desert.
Day 0320th April, 2019 (Sat)
- Petra – Wadi Mujib – Dead Sea – Departure from Amman (B, L)
After an early morning wakeup call, you will ride the camels to enjoy the sunrise through the canyons of Wadi Rum.
You will return to the camp for breakfast and, then, you will be transferred to Wadi Mujib (approx. a 3-hour drive).
Well equipped with life-jackets, you will maneuver your way through the canyon to explore its spectacular sandstone formations. You will hike, swim, abseil, and slide through the gorge surrounded by a wild beauty that will take your breath away.
Zig-zag ropes along the way will offer you support where needed, as the trail takes you through some mild rapids and pools of calm water. An experienced guide will always be there to help you until you reach a beautiful waterfall where you can swim, relax, and enjoy the scenery before retracing your steps to the starting point.
At 1pm, you will reach the Dead Sea where you will have lunch before enjoying a natural spa in the famous Dead-Sea mud!
With its dramatic landscape and the Dead Sea stretching at 400 m (1,312 ft) below sea level, the Jordan Rift Valley is one of the most spectacular places in the world and represents the lowest point on the face of the earth. The water of the Dead Sea is warm, soothing, and extremely salty – almost ten times saltier than the standard seawater – rich in chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium, bromine and several others.
The mud of the Dead Sea looks like soft, dark-gray clay, and is filled with more than 35 different minerals. Coat yourself in this mud and bask in the sun for about an hour, until the mud dries and turns into a crust. Your beauty treatment is now almost complete: rinse off your mud mask in the Dead Sea (take care not to let the water or the mud into your eyes, nose, or mouth) and find out how soft your skin can feel.
By evening, you will depart for the airport to catch your flights.
Note: Departure flights must be after 8pm.
