Day 01

15th December 2019
  • Arrival at Nairobi
    Upon your arrival at the Nairobi International airport (NBO), you will be welcomed by a Rahhalah representative who will accompany you to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day is at your own pace. Accommodation in Nairobi: Tamarind tree hotel or similar.

Day 02

16th December 2019
  • Nairobi – Masai Mara – Evening Game Drive (B, L, D)
    After breakfast, you will drive northwest to the edge of the Great Rift Valley to enjoy some spectacular scenery before descending into the valley, heading towards the famous Masai-Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara is one of the most remarkable ecosystems in the world and for a good reason: this vast expanse of grassland is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife. (The drive takes approximately 8 hours, but there will be regular stops along the way). Upon arrival, you will check-in to the Mara Engai Lodge: an exquisite luxury lodge. The Mara Engai Lodge is nestled amongst the pristine Kenyan Ravine forest, 1000ft high on the Oloololo Siria Escarpment. It enjoys breathtaking views over the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve and onto the migration route of Serengeti. It features large, luxury, tented suites and private viewing decks, along with meals overlooking the entire Masai Mara. In the evening, you will go for a game viewing drive, and you are likely to spot various animals (lions, cheetahs, and big elephant herds) in their natural element. Note that this is also the land of the Masai people: nomadic herders who choose a traditional lifestyle and who are permitted to graze their cattle in the area. Return to your Camp for dinner. Accommodation: Mara Engai Wilderness Lodge or similar

Day 03 & Day 4

17th & 18th December, 2019
  • Masai Mara Reserve – Full day / Split Game drive (B, L, D)
    After breakfast, you will leave for a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch at the Mara River migration bride area. These morning and afternoon game drives will take you in search of Africa’s Big Five and a plethora of other animals inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. Note that nothing can be guaranteed on a safari, but with the help of our brilliant guides, you should have the chance to see and learn a lot about the wildlife of the area. Return to your Camp for dinner. Accommodation: Mara Engai Wilderness Lodge or similar. Optional activities: (not included – subject to availability) Quad Bike adventure: A thrilling ride through the bush and our organic garden. Take in the incredible views and see the wildlife from a completely different perspective. Ride past giraffe, elephants and zebra and go deeper into the bush for an unforgettable experience. Hot air balloon ride: The Balloon Safari adventure begins in the pre-dawn hours (6 am), offering breathtaking views on the park and a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savanna below (from a 1500 ft altitude). After an hour or so in the air, you finish with a breakfast in the bushes, cooked on the balloon’s burners.
