Itinerary Details

Upon your arrival at the International Airport of Bucharest, you will be welcomed by a Rahhalah representative who will transfer you to Brasov (approx. a 3-hour drive).

Brasov is one of the most visited towns in Romania and for a good reason. Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains, it offers a wealth of historical attractions and beautiful examples of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture, enough to delight any visitor. It was founded in 1211 on an ancient Dacian site by the Teutonic Knights and was inhabited for centuries by the Saxons as one of the seven walled citadels. The town exudes a distinct medieval ambiance and, as such, has featured in many modern films.

Depending on your arrival time there, you will first embark on a walking tour around the old town of Brasov, spending the rest of the day at leisure.

In the evening, the group will re-assemble for a briefing meeting with the guide over dinner.

Accommodation: Belfort Hotel (3-star) or similar.

After breakfast, you will leave Brasov to visit (after a 40-min drive) the most renowned attraction of Romania: Bran Castle, otherwise known as Dracula's Castle. Countless Dracula legends, reinforced by books, movies, and stories, echo in this impressive castle perched on the Carpathian Mountains. A professional guide will take you through the rooms and the estate, highlighting details of the defensive architecture, and recounting some of the local tales that have been kindling for decades the imagination of the world.

You will then head to the Bucegi Natural Park: a protected mountainous area that includes several caves, canyons, ridges, sinkholes, valleys, waterfalls, pastures, and forests, offering shelter to a variety of flora and fauna. You will hike on the northern part of the mountain which is wilder and no so touristic. On the way, you will see the Devil's Mill Waterfall and a local sheep farm where you will stop for a Shepherd's lunch.

At the end of the trail, the car will wait for you to transfer you to a guesthouse in the Bran area where you will settle and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
