Itinerary Details
Upon arrival at the Colombo (Bandaranaike International Airport – CMB) you will be met by our representative and transferred to Negombo.
NEGOMBO town is a historically interesting place strongly influenced by its European conquerors and the Catholic Church. The narrow strip of land between the lagoon, the sea and numerous canals allows for many exciting explorations.
Initially claimed by the Portuguese, the city was conquered by the Dutch in 1644 and remained under their sovereignty until 1796 when the Dutch were finally overthrown by the British. Negombo was one of the most important sources of cinnamon during the Dutch era, and the visitors can still discover remnants of that period while exploring the city.

The river’s clear waters spring from the heart of the wilderness reserve and tumble through a rocky gorge just above Kithulgala.
