This expanding town is a historically interesting place strongly influenced by the Catholic Church and is often referred to as “Little Rome’. The lagoon atNegombo is famous for its harvest of lobsters, crabs and prawns. Fish auctions regularly take place on the beach and are definitely worth a look, as are the many canals which meander through the area. Negombo has a chequered and colourful past in that the Dutch, the Portuguese and the British all laid claim to it at different times. The town has several buildings dating back to the Dutch and Portuguese Colonial days.Evidence of their occupation can be seen in the colonial-style architecture of many of the buildings in Negombo. During the Dutch era, Negombo was also one of the most important sources of the much-coveted and highly profitable cinnamon.

Do White Water Rafting at Kitulgala( starting time 2.30p.m)
This thrilling adventure on the white water sections of the Kelani River is suitable for amateurs as well as
professionals alike. During the river run you will experience the thrill of grade 2 to 3+ shooting rapids and the
euphoria of making it through. The river’s clear water is born in the heart of the peak wilderness reserve and
tumbles through a rocky gorge just above Kithulgala. The rafting location had a bout of fame, when it was chosen as a prime location in the filming of, David Lean's 1957 award winning film 'Bridge on the River Kwai.' Whether you are 6 yrs or 75 yrs, our rafting rides which are run by professionally trained and experienced guides are safe & fun! A briefing is given prior to the river run with instructions on paddling techniques and “man over board” procedures.

Early breakfast at hotel and checkout and transfer to Kandy (approx. 3hours drive).
Kandy was the last stronghold of the Buddhist political power against colonial powers. It is also the home of the Temple of the Tooth relic. It’s Sri Lanka’s second largest city and home to a Sinhalese cultural tradition of which Sri Lankans are justifiably proud.
After reaching to Kandy check-in to home stay.
After lunch visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Way of life in Kandy and Local Market
Peradeniya Botanical garden is 147 acres in extent started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the kings of Kandy. There are more than 500 species of trees and plants. Some are rare & endemic as well as flora from the tropical world. Spice Garden on Orchid House is more popular with tourist.

The Hiriwaduna Village located in Habarana is a simple 3 to 4 hour experience with jungle and village walks.
The use of a Catamaran (Dugout canoes) is an exhilarating experience.
Chaina Cultivation. You can have a chance to get chaina cultivation experience. This is a very primitive agricultural method where farmers slash and burn jungle patches for cultivation of short term crops. They mainly depend on rain water and there will not be any major field preparations. Farmers usually rotate between 2 to 3 land plots.
It provides a life line of water to many villagers in the area to cultivate their crops. Paddy / Onions and other varieties of vegetables are grown providing water from this tank.

A community project can be vary from half day to full day, involving schools, ordinarily families ,etc. It could be a volunteer session of renovating a remote school with an interaction with the students of the village or a tree planting session to ensure a greener future for the present day younger generations.
